WordCamp Kathmandu 2016 (#WCKTM)

WordCamp Kathmandu (#WCKTM) will make its debut on 19th of November 2016. It is a one-day conference about WordPress, organized with the aim of attracting developers, designers, web professionals, bloggers and WordPress enthusiasts from all over Nepal and beyond for a weekend to absolutely geek-out.

WordCamps are locally-organized, annual conferences covering everything related to WordPress. It brings together WordPress community members from all over the world at a common place, providing a chance to gather in a new location to share insights and experiences, do business, make connections and talk about WordPress (that we all love doing). First started in 2006 by Matt Mullenweg, the co-founder of WordPress, in San Francisco, and since then local communities have organized their own WordCamps. The frequency of WordCamps have been steadily increasing each year with 89 events in 2015 alone.

This will not be the first ever WordCamp in Nepal though. WordCamps in Nepal were organized under the name of WordCamp Nepal and had been since the formation of WordPress Nepal in 2011. But starting this year, in order to encourage other smaller communities in the country as per an unofficial announcement by WordCamp Central, the concept of WordCamp Kathmandu was born. We are way ahead in the planning process. We’re looking to have an event with amazing presentation and talks which reflects upon various aspects of WordPress and our not-so-small community and we want you to come be a part of it!

WordCamp Kathmandu 2016 will be held on Saturday, 19th of November at Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawalakhel. You can expect a day filled with WordPress content, an opportunity to meet like-minded people, get inspired, learn, share ideas, good food and SWAGS!
